Hi, I’m Liza.
My pronouns are she/they. I graduated from Center for Natural Wellness in 2018 and have since practiced full-time as a Licensed Massage Therapist in spa and clinical settings. I’m endlessly fascinated by bodies and I care deeply for the beings inside them, so I study often and listen well. My work is attuned, thorough, and informed by both the latest research and your unique experience of being in a body.
I am proficient in several areas of massage and bodywork, including Swedish and deep tissue massage, myofacial release, trigger point therapy, cupping, orthopedic massage, and oncology massage. I’ve focused much of my continued training on pain and injury conditions, post-op recovery, and trauma-informed care. If you don’t know what any of that means, that’s okay! I’ll bring what I know about the body, you bring what you know about your body, and we’ll go from there! What’s important to know about me is that, whether your goal is to relax or address a specific problem (or both!), I have the practical skills to help, the clinical prudence necessary to do that safely, and I genuinely care.
NYS License # 031158 (I am licensed under my legal name Melissa Grohosky. Please call me by my nickname Liza.)
Location Details
My office is located on the second floor in the same building as Eastern Door Counseling Center.
Ample off-street parking is available.
Take the ramp to the front entrance and have a seat in the waiting room. No need to check in. Please do not use the stairs on the side of the building.
The waiting room is shared with other businesses that do not require the use of masks at this time. If you are COVID-cautious and would rather wait in your car, feel free! Text me when you arrive and I’ll come get you when it’s time for your appointment.
All-gender restrooms are available on the first floor near the waiting room.
The entrance will be locked whenever I am working in the building alone. I will unlock the door 10 minutes prior to your appointment time, and will lock the door behind us for your session.
POLICIES
CANCELLATION
A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations, or you may be charged in full for the appointment. Payment is due before your next appointment. The fee will be waived if you cancel within the 24-hour notice period due to infectious or contagious conditions. If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to someone with a contagious illness, please reschedule your appointment as soon as possible.
NO-SHOWS
If you fail to arrive for a scheduled appointment and did not cancel or reschedule in advance, you will be considered a "no-show." In the event of a "no-show," you will be charged in full and must pay before your next appointment. Clients that incur three "no-shows" will not be permitted to rebook.
lateness
Appointment times are as scheduled and cannot always be extended beyond the stated time to accommodate late arrivals. Please be on time to your appointment. If you are late, you are responsible for paying the full amount of your scheduled session and will receive the remainder of your scheduled time.
Sickness
Massage/bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. Please cancel your appointment as soon as you are aware of a possible infectious or contagious condition. There are no fees for cancellations due to illness.
illness prevention
I am fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, and remain cautious out of consideration for those who are at higher risk of severe disease. I also wear a mask in the treatment room for the duration of your session. I do not ask these things of you, but do ask that you cancel/reschedule your appointment immediately if you are not feeling well or have reason to believe that you were exposed to someone with a contagious condition.
